Welcome to Our
FAQ'S
q1: What makes your product different from the mass-produced,Teflon-extruded, commercially dried brands?
A:We’re glad you asked! At Flour Pasta Co., we like to keep things small, special, and oh-so-artisanal. We produce our pasta in small batches, using old-school bronze dies and hand-cutting techniques. And when it comes to drying our pasta, we take it slow, because good things are worth the wait!
q2: Why the pouch-style packaging instead of a traditional box?
A:To maintain the freshness of our pasta, we recommend keeping it in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for up to five days. For longer storage, you can freeze the pasta for up to three months. Just be sure to thaw it in the refrigerator before cooking.
q3:Where do you source your semolina
A:Only the best for our pasta! We use 100% American-grown and milled NON-GMO semolina because we believe in supporting local farmers and keeping things wholesome.
q4: What makes your product Vegan?
A:No eggs, no problem! All our fresh and dry pastas are made egg-free, so they’re completely Vegan. Even our pasta is plant-based and proud!
q6:How long does pasta take to cook?
A:Cooking time? That’s up to your taste buds! We provide boiling suggestions on the back of every pouch, but the real rule of thumb. One gallon of salted boiling water per pound of pasta. Perfect pasta awaits!
q7:What’s so special about a bronze die?
A:Think of bronze dies as pasta magic-makers. They give our pasta a rough, porous texture that’s just begging to soak up your sauce. It’s the secret to pasta that’s as good as it gets, bite after delicious bite.
q8: Why is your product more expensive than the national brands I see at the grocery store?
A:Quality has its price! Our artisanal process is a labor of love. Bronze dies need frequent replacement, and our small-batch production is more delicate and time-consuming. But trust us, the taste is worth every penny.
q9:What is Semolina?
A:Semolina is the superhero of flours! Made from Durum wheat, it’s coarse, high in protein, and packed with gluten, making it perfect for pasta that holds its shape and texture beautifully.
q10:Doyou have larger quantities available?
A:Absolutely! We’ve got you covered with wholesale foodservice pack sizes. Just give us a shout, and we’ll hook you up with all the pasta your heart desires.
q11: Do you work with restaurants?
A:You bet! We love partnering with restaurants, clubs, resorts etc. Reach out to us, and we’ll connect you with foodservice distributors in your area. Let’s make some pasta magic happen together!
q12:Do you offer options for retailers?
A:Sure do! Retailers can stock up on FPC dry products using Faire Direct. Interested? Check out our wholesale page or click the link to get started.
q13:Do you offer any Gluten-Free varieties?
A:We’re all about Semolina, so unfortunately, that means gluten is in the mix. But if you’re a gluten lover, you’re in for a treat!
q14: What is the shelf life?
A:Check the best-by date on your pouch for all the deets. Our dry pasta lasts 6 months, while the fresh stuff is good for 21 days. If you’re not planning to enjoy the fresh pasta within 12 days, pop it in the freezer to keep it just right.
